Lord Nimbus Von Poof
Lord Nimbus Von Poof joined the sanctuary in November 2022, after being found wandering around the parking lot of a downtown apartment following a tropical storm. Some kind college students discovered him soaking wet and out of his element. Not knowing where he could have come from and not wanting to leave him without shelter, food, or warmth, they took him inside.
When they first contacted FPAS, advice was given on how to care for him temporarily while a long-term solution was considered. With the sanctuary at capacity for roosters, it was a decision that took careful thought. However, being the only true farm animal sanctuary in the area and with nowhere else for the students to turn, it was agreed the little roo could be brought to FPAS the next day. The sweet group of college students were excited to visit the sanctuary and meet some of the residents, and it is hoped that their experience rescuing this adorable chicken will inspire them to make compassionate choices in the future.
Now known as Lord Nimbus Von Poof, this sweet and floofy little Silkie—a breed of mini chickens called bantams—is safe and loved at FPAS. He lives happily in the Ever After Aviary with his wife, Astrid Von Poof, and the rest of the bantams.
