Frequently Asked Questions
Can you take my animal?
While we are generally closed to owner surrenders and primarily focus on animals in need of life-saving rescue, we do consider requests on a case-by-case basis. If you are seeking placement for an animal, please email us at info@flyingpiganimalsanctuary.org with the following details: the animal’s age, sex, breed, health status, whether they are spayed or neutered, their story, current situation, and location.
Please note:
We are not currently able to accept any additional roosters, cats, or dogs for the foreseeable future. Additionally until we're able to build additional fencing and barns, we are at capacity for pigs. And we are unfortunately not currently set up for cows, ducks or bunnies, however creating species specific habitats for all three species is a future goal.
We kindly request a donation with any accepted surrender. Many animals can live 20 years or more, and providing lifelong care for our sanctuary residents is a significant and ongoing financial commitment.
We are more than happy to offer behavioral advice and/or species specific enclosure recommendations in order to help you keep your furry or feathered family member. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Thank you for understanding and supporting our mission.
Are you open to the public?
We love visitors, but please note that we are not open to the general public and do not keep regular business hours. As the sanctuary is also our private residence, we kindly ask that you respect our privacy.
We do allow donations to be dropped off at our main gate, and you’re welcome to view any animals that happen to be visible from there. However, we do not allow drop-in visitors.
Don’t worry—there are several great ways to visit! We host public events and classes throughout the year, offer pre-scheduled private tours and field trips for a donation, and welcome volunteers who want a hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience with the animals. Volunteering costs nothing but a few hours of your time and is a wonderful way to give back.
