Fred was our first ever rooster and is a pure Rhode Island Red. His previous caretaker wanted to rehome him because there were conflicts between Fred and the other rooster on the property. Fred seemed to sense his caretaker’s unease, because every time there was a conflict and the caretaker got frustrated, Fred would mysteriously disappear for several days.

 

When Fred first arrived at Flying Pig, he was the head honcho in the coop. However, he was eventually replaced by his son, Big Red.
