Mariposa
The Fun Police
Mariposa, lovingly known as "Mari" or "Mare Bear," has been a beloved part of the Franklin/FPAS family since Summer was just four years old, and Mari herself was a tiny pup. Despite her small size of a mere 10 pounds, her personality is enormous. Though she's begun to show signs of aging, with her graying hair and the need for stairs to reach the couch, her spirit remains as vibrant and lively as ever, just like the butterfly she's named for.
As the sanctuary's devout "chief of the fun police," Mariposa ensures that no fun goes unchecked. She regularly scolds those who dare to play, but her stern warnings are usually ignored, much to her dismay. Visitors to the sanctuary are sure to hear Mari as she patrols the grounds, making sure everyone is in line.
Mariposa adores food, snuggles, and stylish outfits, with sweaters being a necessity since she gets cold easily. Though she doesn't have much affection for the other animals at the sanctuary, whom she considers beneath her (especially the mutts), she'll tolerate anyone who's willing to cuddle. Mari is known for being a drama queen, a snuggle bug, and a fashionista, and she's an irreplaceable part of the family.
