Princess Fiona
Princess Fiona, affectionately known as Fifi, joined the family in April 2017 after being rescued as a baby piglet in desperate need of help. A compassionate woman found her at a flea market a few towns over, confined to a rolled-up piece of fence wire serving as a makeshift cage. The piglet had an obvious skin condition, was being yelled at, and thrown dried corn with no soft place to even lie down. Shocked by the conditions this little one was enduring, the woman couldn’t bear to leave her there, so she paid $20 just to save her from that terrible situation.
When Skye heard about this tiny piglet in need, she rushed to get her. After a few vet visits and treatment for mange, Fifi made a full recovery and began her new life at the little rescue farm that would eventually become FPAS just a couple years later.
As a piglet, Fiona lived in the house and enjoyed plenty of special bonding time. Though she is shy and meek around unfamiliar people, she has a kind and gentle soul. As one of the smaller pigs, with delicate feet and a long snout, she has a unique, dainty charm.
A couple of years ago, Fiona gave Skye quite a scare when she had a sudden seizure right in front of her. It was a terrifying moment, and though the vet did testing and couldn’t determine the cause, Fiona spent a month being monitored on the back porch, separated from her herd. Thankfully, it seemed to be a one-time incident, and she has been her happy, healthy self ever since.
Fiona’s gentle demeanor and sweet nature is reflected in her kind eyes. She is truly a special girl, and her genuine spirit continues to inspire Skye.
