Lord Finton Pumpernickel & Duchess Saphira Firefly

In April 2021, we welcomed the royal babies, Lord Finton Pumpernickel and Duchess Saphira Firefly, into our lives!  

These two energetic, long-legged fuzzy siblings have been a delightful handful. From their tiny days, they’ve amazed us by reaching everything and being the first pigs to master furniture hopping. They can run fast and jump high. They are absolute magic! Their mile long legs and luxurious, wooly coats are simply breathtaking!

We suspect they’re Kunekune-farm pig mixes, which explains their extra fluffiness and striking spots, courtesy of their Kunekune genes. And their ‘farm pig’ lineage adds height and size to their majestic stature.

The magnificent Lord Finton Pumpernickel and his sister, Duchess Saphira Firefly, are fondly known as Finton & Saphira. Finton symbolizes White Fire , while Saphira represents Sapphire . Though they’re not housed with Phoenix anymore, they were the perfect little siblings for our fearless tripod girl, Fearless Phoenix Rising.  

We’re incredibly grateful we could rescue these spitfires, and thankful to Emily for going above and beyond to bring them home from miles away. Watching Finton and Saphira grow up, with their infectious energy and zest for life, has been an absolute joy!
