Meet Salem, our feline ambassador and a proud member of the FPAS welcoming committee! Salem works tirelessly to change the negative reputation often associated with black cats. If you've visited FPAS, chances are you've met Salem and quickly fallen in love. In fact, he might be the only resident that guests have jokingly claimed they wanted to sneak home with them.

Salem was rescued as a kitten by the local humane society that we had previously adopted from and officially joined our family on Halloween 2015. Though we originally raised him as an indoor cat, Salem decided long ago that he preferred the outdoors. In recent years, the few times we've brought him inside, he made it clear he wasn't a fan.

A true "people cat," Salem is always eager to share his love, in fact he demands it. He's known for his endearing habit of making biscuits on you if you let him. And when he wants attention, you'll definitely know—his loud meows make sure of that!
